Helvellyn//Striding Edge

This post is way overdue but before venturing out to the forests of Thailand, Andrew and me spent a weekend in the Lake District, England in his parents static caravan. It was so nice to finally spend some quality time together after spending a long hard summer slogging away at our master’s theses. It was also a great opportunity to have a weekend away before we both embarked on our respective adventures to faraway lands.

We decided to climb the third highest mountain in Britain, Helvellyn,  so it was up early for an hours drive through the scenic hills to get there. The walk was challenging but exciting especially at the top along striding edge! The views were breathtakingly beautiful in every direction. Who needs to travel when you have so much to explore on your doorstep 😉

To mark the occasion I filmed lots of little snippets of our walk on my new GoPro Hero4 and very roughly edited them into a video fit for youtube (See below). It was such a good weekend and great to be able to watch a little bit of it again and again on the other side of the world. I can’t wait to be back in the lakes walking again soon!

Enjoy x
